Car rental in Turkey
You can rent a car by contacting a large or small private company. Drivers who are over 21 years old and have at least 2 years of driving experience can only drive a small economy class car and pay a “young driver fee” (5-7 euros per day). Drivers over 25 years of age have the right to rent a premium car. Small companies are quite loyal in matters of age and for them the only main condition is the presence of a driver’s license. To rent a car, you must have a foreign passport (or a copy of it with the date of crossing the border) and a driver’s license. You will need a credit card or cash to pay a deposit and pay for rental services. The minimum rental period is one day. All cars have a CASCO insurance policy; in the event of an accident, the insurance company pays for serious damage, and for minor damage the driver pays, despite the insurance being taken out. It is worth noting that some companies have restrictions on movement in different areas of Turkey. It is also worth noting that driver's licenses issued in most countries of the former CIS do not meet the requirements of the international standard and it is necessary to issue a new national license.
